The 433MHz remotes are easily available and affordable.
Any insights shall be appreciated.
There is an option - 092. FREQUENCY, REMOTE CONTROLS. I couldn't get it to work though. Spend about 3 hours on it today.
2022 V60 Cross Country. Bought in NZ as a Japanese Used Import. It came with only 1 key. I bought 3 keys on eBay (433.92MHz YGOHUF8423MS).
To check that Orbit worked, and that I knew the process I tried adding my original key. Orbit status message said that the key was already programmed. 8)
I switched the frequency from 315MHz to 434MHz. My original key fob buttons (315MHz) no longer locked/unlocked the doors. Starting the car with fob in my hand didn't work either. If I placed the remote in the programming position I could start the car.
I added a 434MHz key - it took a few attempts for it to be recognised (quite a few CEM program errors) - but it was added as slot 3. Pressing the buttons wouldn't lock/unlock the doors, and trying to start the car with the fob in my hand or pocket didn't work. But placing it in the programming position would allow the car to start. I tried replacing the battery with a different brand but that made no difference.
I added 2 more 433.92MHz keys as slots 4 & 5 just in case the key fob I bought was faulty. They also took a few attempts to be recognised during programming. They also wouldn't lock/unlock or start the car. But would work for starting if placed in the programming position. 2 of these new fobs were bought from the same seller on eBay, and the 3rd came from a different seller on eBay. I don't think all 3 could be faulty.
I then tried changing the frequency to 434 Narrow Band. No difference. All 4 remotes wouldn't lock/unlock or start the car. But placing in programming position still worked to start the car.
I switched back to 315MHz and my original key worked to lock/unlock and start the car with the fob in my pocket. The 434Hz remotes would only start the car from the programming position.
To clean this all up, I left it on 315MHz, did Remove All Keys, and then added my original key (again taking a few attempts for it to be added).
Happy to try all this again if someone has some suggestions on things I might have missed.
