The case with your VoC app losing connection to your car after ignition is switched off - I wonder if you pair your car and your phone via Bluetooth and if your phone is tethering its' internet connection? It could indicate that your VoC app is active only when the car is able to access internet, which is probably only possible if you phone is paired and is sharing its' internet connection with the car via Bluetooth. How does that sound?
