Keyless entry problem diagnosis/fix

I have the exact same issue with my 2019 V60 Inscription. 
The car is booked for a Volvo diagnostic, and I hope they come to the same conclusion, to replace the car keys with new ones. 
I’m experiencing the exact same symptoms: the keyless entry only works about one out of every five times, and the keyless start never works. I have to place the key in the cup holder every time to start the car... 

My MY19 XC60 had identical problems that were solved in the same way!po
