BE ADVISED! VIDA detects any module replacement or addition!
#67
Quote:In this case with the roof module i think i got it from a XC90 and since the hardware was not withing spec the car will not update, so im goint to have to get a new light for my next service as i need this latest upgrade to not lose car connectivity (Sweden is shutting down 3G 2027)
You have two options.
1) Install the original module and purchase and reload "configuration change" for 0.01 USD. This software reread all the installed modules on the car and compare and update (remove the recorded ECU change) the VOLVO db.

2) Order and install the replaced "ECU" reload that appears in the HW change TAB. However, it may or may not install it. It depends on Part#  or one of its Supersessions is listed for your VIN.  Keep in mind the software reloads are not cheap. starting from 50 USD.

The part number  31479612  is the whole panel and not the controller. If you still have the original panel, What you should do is that.
Disassemble everything from both the original and new panels and install the the original controller to the new panel. Then, perform the first step above.

Quote:But question now is.. as i have issues with my RR lock freezing in winter time and LF lock i need to pull twice to open.. if i get new locks from junkyard with same volvo-article number but 2024/2025, this should not hinder upgrade right? i want to get as new as i can as these should be "fixed" from having freezing issues etc etc.

Replacing mechanical parts, sensors, complete AC unit (not the controller) and etc, does not require any software reload. In Fact, VIDA does not even know it. You can even replace your seats as long as you move the original seat controller from the old one to the new one.
VIDA only detects ECU changes and retrofitted Alarm sensors.
