VCM Battery Connector damage and reset.
#10
Thank you Swedespeed as broncofx83 posted photos where i could trace the circuit.

The wires are all used and as follows, i believe:

1. Black wire: Battery Ground - Connects to surrounding ground plane by 4 small tracks (no physical strength)
2. Red Wire: Battery +8v          - Connects to wide track
3. White wire: Battery 4V         - Connects to other wide track
4. Green/yellow wire: Battery neg via diode    - Small track to PTH hole. (no physical strength)

The connecter has been poorly designed strength wise which is why it lifts so easily, and could easily have been improved.

I tried numerous sites for batteries and eventually got one from aliexpress. While not made in israel they are 4v lithium ion batteries (not 3.6/3,7v) and after a year still have over 8v. (lithium Ion go to 4.2v) Cost under £20.

Many ebay, even amazon sites sell correctly volvo part numbered products but are not correct.
Thank you again.
