First let's clarify two things!
1) Software configuration change via Orbit or VDASH or something else.
You MUST revert back any software configuration change before connecting the car to VIDA. Otherwise, the CAR's VIN number will be blocked by VOLVO for any software download and not limited to any ECU reload after the replacement of a faulty one.
2) HW change such as ECU replacement or installing a module that did not came from factory such as IMS, AUD, IHU WAM.
This does not block the VIN of the car. On the contrary, VIDA detects all the HW changes and forces all replaced modules to be reloaded before allowing total upgrade.
For the WAM and AUD.
It's realy case by case depending on the replacement part number and the VIN of the car. Since your car did not came with those modules, VIDA would detect those as HW changes and will force you to reload them. You can purchase the AUD and WAM reload and try to install them but there is no guarantees that VIDA would actually install. It might give you an error message saying that "This software and HW is not computable with your VIN" The risk is that, it will give you this error message only after purchasing and retrieving the reload software. If it does not install due to that error, you can ask for refund and in most cases, VOLVO VIDA team issues your refund within 24 hours. (weekdays). If somehow it installs the WAM and AUD, it will also enable the related configurations such as 360 view, and audio type.
If it does not install, you will need to remove the WAM module, install your original AUD back and the install configuration change. This way, VIDA would clear any detected and recorded config HW change and let you to perform total upgrade.
My advise,
First, remove WAM. (disconnect the power), install your original AUD or disconnect the new one if you do not have the original and then try below steps for the seat controller. Once you clear the seat controller HW change after following the steps, run the total upgrade. Below trick usually works because the seat controllers have many different interchangeable variants between the models and years and many of those variants supports common options unlike AUD or WAM which have total different options.
For the seat controllers only!

You can try this.
- Connect original PSMD PSMP, read out, order config test but not install it yet.
- then connect the new PSMD/PSMP
- install config test
- after config test install, the PSMD/PSMP should be OK in the VIDA system, will not block Total Upgrade.
- This workaround does not change any function configurations. It will only update the VOLVO servers with the new seat controllers so that it does not block the total upgrade. You will still need Orbit to enable the seat extension and other options you've enabled with the new seats.
