I am looking for some help from the Orbit user community to try to determine what information, if any, is available on the status of the DPF (Diesel Particle Filter) for diesel cars. I have an issue with my XC60 D4 whereby the sump oil level is reporting 'level overfilled' when I've not added any oil or performed any oil change. The research I've done suggests this is due to diesel seeping into the sump during repeated failed DPF regenerations because the process never gets to complete due to the limited mileage I typically drive daily (to the golf course and back - less than 20 min round trip). What I need is some way to monitor the state of the DPF system (statically or dynamically) to determine when a regen is needed to ensure I drive the car long enough at that time to ensure the regen happens and completes successfully. Thereby preventing any diesel seepage. (Assuming that's what's happening.)
As I had not received any response on this thread, I posted my question to Spaycetech Support and got the response below from the very helpful Andrew, who was happy for me to share. Unfortunately, I am unable to undertake this DPF data investigation as I no longer have an Orbit license. But if someone were able to verify that such information was available (somehow) through Orbit's access to DIDs info, as Andrew has suggested it might be, I would be happy to re-instate my license to pursue this goal. Essentially, I am after any Orbit users with Diesel cars who are willing to run some tests to search the DIDs from the car's ECUs for any data relating to 'DPF' and see what comes out.
Appreciate any help or insights anyomne can offer.

The answer is...maybe ;-) Being that OrBit has some "universal" type functions, specifically reading Data by ID (DIDs) from the ECUs in the car, there may already be a DID that can be read to see this, even if it is not a specific procedure. I have a petrol car so I can't directly look at what DPF fields are available (OrBit loads info dynamically by the specific module part) but as an example, if I search GPF in the fields for my ECM and there are data fields to read.
Now that may or may not be useful! If the data returned, is not a useful unit, or requires any translation or intelligence to be useful, something that would be part of a service module in VIDA where results are analyzed or something like that, then I would need to build that in to OrBit.
I got a decent number of requests for monitoring and checking on the health of the diesel emissions systems, so I am looking at what I can do. How quickly things can be done, depends on what level of workflow is needed. I'd say, if you are looking for a display of some data, like perhaps if the main page displayed a DPF system status when connected to the car like we do for battery charge, oil level, brake system etc. I don't see why I can't work that out pretty quickly and get it into an update. The other things that are near term are requests for service procedures like triggering the DPF regen and possibly calibrating the AdBlue system (once I understand what does ;-)) The longer term things that will take more time are the real time monitoring tasks, like troubleshooting the DPF, where you want to drive the car and monitor differential pressure etc and OrBit tells you what is good and what is not good.
