Checking thermostat functionality

I was surprised too. You’d think it would at least generate a code if it’s not getting up to temp for some amount of time. But from what I could tell, it’s just an old school wax filled thermostat, not an electronically controlled one like some brands use now. It does have an electrical connection for the heater that opens it sooner when it’s in polestar mode but I think that’s it, so maybe it would set a code if that shorted.
