If VIDA detects any unofficial config changes done by Orbit or any other third party tool, VOLVO will block the VIN (Car) for any further software reloads including for officially replaced modules at the dealer.
Having said that,
VIDA will detect any replaced modules and will force you to reload before allowing a total upgrade. Please note this does not mean your car is blocked for software reloads.
VIDA will reload replacement modules only if the part number of the replacement module is listed for your VIN.
You have two options depending on the replaced seat modules that came with the replacement seats.
1) If the part number of the replacement seat modules is listed for your car's VIN, then you can reload the replacement modules and VIDA will not bother you again.
If the part number of the replacement seat modules is NOT listed for your car's VIN, VIDA will not reload giving you error this software is not suitable for your car. The downside is that VIDA will only throw that error only after purchase of the reload software is completed right before the installation begins. So, check the part number before you connect the VIDA.
2) If the part number does not match to your VIN. (In my case because I retrofitted S90 seats to my S60).
You will need to either disconnect the seats before connecting the VIDA or put the originals back.
Now, disconnecting the seat harness will throw DTCs for seat controllers and the SRS airbags since it won't detect seat airbags. At this point I do not know if VIDA would still allow total upgrade with those DTCs or not but at least it wouldn't detect HW changes and force you to perform software reload. You can then put the original controllers back, perform the total upgrade if it does not perform total upgrade due to DTCs caused by the disconnected modules.
eyy. you said that you couldn't reload your seats because it's from a 90 series in your 60 series. I have retrofitted from standard fully electric seat and semi electric seat for the passenger to fully ventilated electric seats with massage and memory from a s90 2023 in my v90 2018. will vida reload those seats in my car? where can i find corect part numbers for my car # in EU so vida is not avalible here for regular customers
