Engine Remote Start

I want to share a recent discovery about my 2019 Volvo XC90 Momentum. I found out that the car can be started remotely using the key. By pressing the lock button twice and holding it, the car starts. The car does not have VOC (Volvo On Call), it is from the USA, and no additional modules have been installed.
Here's what I did to enable this feature:

• 45 REMOTE ENGINE START : Remote engine start (preconditioning) via the smartphone app - set to 02 .
  
• 50 CHASSIS TYPE : Police chassis - set to 05 .
  

After making these changes, you need to drive the car a few kilometers for the configuration to activate; otherwise, the car won't start with the key.
However, there are some trade-offs:

• The windows, panoramic roof, and trunk will no longer open or close using the key button.
  
• The trunk can only be opened using the foot sensor. From the interior button, the trunk door can be both opened and closed.
  

Additionally, when the POLICE mode is activated, the start-stop function does not work.

Hey nice find!! I think we chatted and you mentioned to me about some of the things that didn't work with Police chassis. You didn't mention the remote start with the key ;-)

I will look a little further into this when I can. If something could be done to enable those features in isolation. But probably not since it's an individual config item that is changed. Worth doing some checking and playing around with it though, I will try some things on my own car.
