But it's very easy to test with your ears! :-) 
1) Set the audio settings "Studio all seats"
2) From the Audio Fader / Balance move the dot to front and the desired side. 
3) Play a song that has less BASS. more vocals. 
4) Continue to play and move the dot to other side. 

If your MID is faulty on one side, you will hear the difference.  If both sides are faulty, you would also notice that vocals are missing.

Thanks - you are right, I tested it using this method and sure enough, something is up with just the one midrange speaker. I initially noticed the issue when I was sitting in the passenger seat, it seemed like the staging was a little off or something. Testing this way confirms it.

It's interesting that the midrange and tweeter are in parallel. The tweeter definitely works fine, I can hear it clearly when I put my ear close to it. I also played some very high pitched tones from the system and it had no issue with them. So if the tweeter is working fine, that suggests to me that the AUD itself and the wiring to the speakers should be fine, and it must be the speaker itself that is faulty. Does that seem right? Hoping to fix this right on the first try!
