Polestar 2 Headlamp with wrong module controller
#4
@IMAY2023 the things with new modules from 2023 are different - they have - as Andrew said - 'signed software' and there is no possibility to do reload used modules. I know this, because had such a case this summer. We played with Andrew connected directly to the car and the only possibility for that car was to buy brand new module from Volvo. Here is part of our conversation with Andrew:

[...
Andrew:
I hope there is a way to support used module replacement for these non security critical modules...for Volvo to essentially "serialize" the hardware with software signatures...so you can only buy new hardware from Volvo...that would be quite a pain!
Me:
you mean, that it probably not possible to reprogram theseĀ  modules? But for XC40 we did it... Or Polestar has different?
Andrew:
Not knowing what each car has, off the top of my head, but I know in previous years, it was not a problem, HCMs did not use signed software. But this 2023 Polestar, is using the HCMs with signed software. So it is something "new" if that makes sense.
