Hi and welcome!
1) Keys and coding keys to the car. I have seen some mentions of the red key. I have one that came with my car. Is there an issue coding more keys to a car with a red key? I didn't see a definitive answer to this.
>>> As far as I know, you can only have 1 red key but you can have multiple regular keys or sports key (without buttons)
2) Polestar transmission tune. I have seen mention that the cars already have the transmission part of this, would this still be the case for my 2019 as the P* tune is not available for that year at all? The transmission and hunting and hanging are probably my largest gripes with the car.
>>>> You can check here if if P* tune available for your car or not. If it's not, I would not recommend changing the configuration. What you are describing is the ECO mode. You can set it to Comfort or Dynamic mode.
3) Air suspension. I have seen in the forums that we can lower the ride. Mine seems incredibly high even when parked. Is there a 'reset to factory' button in the app?
>>> With Orbit you should be able to calibrate the air suspension or set the 245 EASY INGRESS EGRESS > 02 or 04. Which will lower the air suspension when you park and shut of the car.
4) I bought my car used through a non volvo dealer, and have not taken it to a actual dealer yet. How would I know if I need what I believe is called 'Total Update'?
In order to change config of the CAR you would need CEM pin. You can do it DIY way or purchase CEM pin retrieval service together with your subscription.
If you go with DIY way. You will need vida subscription anyway. So, you can perform total upgrade with your 3 day VIDA subscription. Total upgrade costs $0.1.
5) I have seen a ton of recommendations for a battery tender/charger for doing updates. As far as I can tell as long as its over 55 amps (?) this is good enough?
You don't really need as long as your battery has 12 volts and at least %65. I never used one but this is true for T5 and T6. I don't know about T8. In any case, you just need maintainer, you don't really need to charge the battery! Just make sure to use the dedicated points under the hood.

Thank you for the responses! That was definitely what I was looking for! Going forward I will post in the relevant rooms for each type, but I figured a welcome post with my base questions was a good way to go!
Also...the Polestar update is available for the 2019 XC60 T5 and T6, but not the T8. If the transmissions are the same, I would assume I would be able to find it in the configs and add it. From what I have read the transmission 'tune' is there, but you need to pay for the engine side of the tuning, which I am not in need of really.
I will also post this question in the engine/transmission forum.
Thank you again!
