I’m finally getting my new XC60 T8 (2026) in a week. What top speed can you safely set for it? I’ve heard something about 220 km/h because of the electric motor on the rear axle?

Another question about the Vmax: why do most people set it to 230 km/h downward on the XC60 T8 (2026)? … is there a technical reason for that? It should be possible to go higher, right?

ERAD overheats at PHEV‘s over 230 which results in limp mode where it needs to cool down and ober times it causes problems.
So if you have ERAD do not go over 230. Best Regards JOS

If you have a car with Android (basically every car from 2022-2026 with the long range battery) the electronic motor is not disconnected when going faster than the factory limit of 180 km/h or 112 mph. The safe range is from 180 km/h to 230 km/h. If you go beyond that, your ERAD3 will overheat and shut the car down. If you have a car with Sensus (and a normal range battery) the electric motor will disconnect when going faster than 140 km/h. So the ERAD2 will never overheat and you can try any speed as long as you have enough empty German Autobahn ahead of you. |
