How does OrBit config affect OTA updates? Will my car get blocked?
#31
Today the car was for maintenance at the dealer. Also a software and map update.

After the maintenance the options that were written by Orbit were gone. I made a backup and could simply set them back. From Volvo i didn't hear anything about these options so a 'factory reset' was not necessary here (Netherlands).

Once again: Is it still safe to update maps via sensus when configurations are not oem? I can't revert back to oem and update because I don't have navi activated in oem config settings. Available update disappears after revering back to oem. Updated maps came available today.

Yes, the two are not related! Besides, you can always use USB to update the maps too.

With the 4.3.12 rolling out… is it safe to update?

Probably.

Somebody has to be first...

Already upgraded from 3.7.0 OTA to 4.3.12 OTA. Did not restore to OEM before updating.

Lost PA/camera customizations, and was stuck with a "stop safely brake failure" error after the OTA reported a successful install.

Given that I was already prepared to re-do those items, once orbit was done everything's been good since last weekend.

My car was in at Volvo today. It seems that in 6 years, it's never been to Volvo before, so was long overdue some software updates.

I returned my OrBit configs to OEM and everything was absolutely fine at Volvo. Although driving to the garage without my reversing cam and Android Auto was a pain, son can't wait to reactivate those.
