V60 2021 - What upgrades am I able to do?
#1
Hey everyone.

Stumbled upon Orbit via Reddit after some questions regarding Android Auto and such.

My EU/Swedish V60 2021 have the White circled USB port along with another port with no markings, but I do not get Android auto when cabled into a phone.

On reddit this was led to believe that the EU or Swedish models do not come with AA capability from the factory (Without activated Smartphone Integration?). Is there any Hardware changes/additions required, or would Orbit simply turn a nob & it would be activated?

Would "Official" Smartphone Integration from my dealership accomplish the same thing? Activating AA capability? Wired & Wirelessly?

The above is probably the main thing I'm after. However, If purchased, you'd be a fool not to look for more.

In other words; What else is likely already capable hardwarewise which just requires a flip of a switch? Could High/low beams following the wheelturning be in the car already?

Yes, it's a simple on/off basically to enable AA, same as dealer. Nothing will get you wireless AA built in. That's not a thing on any Volvo.
Yes, 90% sure"Bendy lights" are the same. It's cheaper to make one set of parts for a smaller car company so lights are pretty standard. It's why even a 2019 can get Adaptive Headlights or "Shadow lights" as some people call them because we got the same headlights they have in Europe.
You can add Pilot Assist and Auto Cruise Control.

Yeah I've understood that the AA is wired no matter what. For Wireless I'd need a dongle of sorts.

Funny thing with my V60 is that most things are there, Pilot assist, Adaptive Cruise control etc.

Bendy lights are not, however I saw a picture the other day that the ones with hardware capabiltiy for this had a string of text inside the lights, however not sure if thats always true/correct?

I mainly want to activate Smart phone integration/AA & Sensus Navigation. The internet maps is some of the worst things I've ever used. & if possible, bendy lights & oh, the Gearbox optimisation from the polestar optimisation(?).

Welcome.

I thank you for the responses over there too! I've bought the cable for the deed & will likely be buying the orbit package this or next week. Is the operation straight forward in the software when you're connected to the car or is it a good idea to have a guide on your hands? I've got the excel file with the huge list of codes. However I'm unable to find these thing's I'm looking for in it?

Hi!

Enable Sensus navigation: yes (will need to load maps via USB)
Polestar TCM programming: yes
Enable CarPlay/AA: yes

Bendy lights: No on those, the headlamp is different with bending capability. Can enable if you swap the headlamps of course!

If you have North American market car, or if there is any other market that you only have "auto high beam" and not "Adaptive beams" with the LED headlights, you can enable adaptive beams.
