Can orbit help with HCMR software reload after new headlight being installed?
#1
Long story short... I messed up big time by replacing my broken head lamp with the wrong one and yes I bought it on eBay and had someone to replace it. Lessons learned.

I just got my recall notice (rear camera issue), had my appointment and they were unable to updated because my new headlight didn't got software reload on HCMR. They charge me $400 and I say no

I was wondering if something like orbit could help me to perform the software reload?

Orbit can flash if you have the correct software. Drop an e-mail to support, they might have the version you need.
However, you did not say if you replaced only the headlight while keeping your original controller or you replaced them both.
If you just replaced the headlight assembly and kept your original controller, you do not need reload you just need to update the config in the controller for the replacement headlight.  You can do it yourself with VIDA.
3 days VIDA costs $90 plus the reload software $180 (if I remember correctly).
If you replaced both headlight and the controller,  VIDA might force you to reload both because you might have a software version mismatch. Thus, I suggest you put the original controller back and then do the VIDA.

I appreciate you answering my question.

Yes I made a mistake, I bought the (used) headlight with the module and I have the technician install it all together and u purged my broken headlight along with the module, and I already knew the correct module p/n (323337455) I actually just purchased and will arrive in a few days.  So I plan to have the technician again to reinstall it, then with Vida (not orbit correct?) I should be able to just update the configuration? I remember they polestar told me that they were able to update PCM but not the HCMR, do you happen to know this terms and what they meant?

I just want to make sure that VIDA will work for me before I buy it and more over I also wanted to remove one of my keys (that I lost) with orbit so not sure if this can be done with VIDA as well otherwise apparently I might need to purchase both .
