I can also share my experience which is in lines with all the mentioned before. After any change (even just ACC / Pilot assist or revert to OEM) it's good to reset IHU, close the car and let it rest 5/10 min.
In my case, before doing such I had message on the dashboard, functions on the panel still available while reverted to OEM and indeed it was just that the car needed a few minutes to clean and make everything coherent.

That's a good practice, yes. I will make a sticky about "don't see my changes" things to do to troubleshoot, there are a bunch of little things learned over time I can share.
OrBit *does* try to make things easy, when you change config, after programming we try to reset the IHU, and clear codes. I try to get the things that we already know you need to do, why not automate it. If something times out, though, OrBit just moves on, or even if all post programming is successful it still takes a little time to "see" changes on the modules sometimes.

Another thing I noted is when flashing failed (because of issues on a couple of ECUs), my IHU would stay dark and ventilating. I then used the ECU Hard Reset for the IHU and problem solved.

Just wanted to update:
--Not much to update, everything is working 100% with no codes and no issues since that initial day
--I hate myself for it but I'm kinda loving Pilot Assist. I take back my earlier comment about it needing calibration--once you understand the limits of it and use it within its abilities it can be very nice. Truthfully, I am still getting used to trusting it and its best use case clearly is stop and go traffic which is AWESOME. Additionally, if you can stand it, using it in conjunction with ECO mode nets some great MPG's and is overall much more relaxing than trying to make it act more aggressively (I'll just take over and put into polestar when I want to slice and dice through traffic).
--I am holding off until I do some long drives through Vermont but with my car lacking the bendy lights, I am not seeing the system doing anything in terms of active headlights. I coded this feature into my old F80 M3 and it was extremely effective, lighting up the side of the highway, making a neat little box around the cars in front of me, etc. I am seeing none of that. While it was a pain to program, I was also able to customize when the feature worked and such--I miss that. I think I had it set to work from 20mph so it was very aggressive in how it functioned.
Overall I still think this is the easiest coding software I have encountered between BMW/Audi/VW/Porsche. VAG-COM was easy from what I remember but I haven't done that in forever. I think Volvo's reaction to it will limit adoption otherwise all of us would be coding other people's cars too. Most won't because they will need to return to stock then re-code. On my old cars I would just tell the dealer not to do any updates and the service advisor would barely bat an eye.
