Hey!
Is there a way to test connectivity before purchase?
IE verify that my setup works correctly (PC, ethernet/OBD, interface)
// regards!

I'll throw a bump to this as I am curious as well.

Connect car, check network devices. Not much to DoIP if you see an IP registered for the car you’re good.
Basic BMW enet cable from Amazon does the trick for the car to PC part.

Already have the cable, haven't tested yet as some other unforseen expenses came up.
If I was to have time to test, I'd probably do something wild and crazy like buy it and then go crazy with adjusting configs (even though the car already has 95% of available features).
Even before buying/trying thank you for making this!!

From my recent experience:
- get a good BMW E-NET cable or make your own if you know what you are doing. The $5 ebay special I purchased had the wrong resistor fitted and poor soldering with an intermittent short (I did check it out before using given the price). Repaired it works fine.
- if the cable is OK windows will show the interface under Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections (you can check the connection status in windows). This is all you need to check connectivity.
- you may have issues getting through the windows firewall. I and other have had this issue. There is another thread on this.
