Retrofit heated steering wheel problem. Help!
#21
Ah ok. The part was tested OK before disassembly, so it should be working. I have no other way of confirming that myself, so I’m just going to assume it is. My original part is manufactured 2019, and the replacement I purchased is manufactured 2020, in a different country as well. All the other numbers printed except part number doesn’t match either. I don’t know if that has anything to do with it.

Part numbers always change for same exact parts almost every year.  I do not see the picture but search for your original part number or the replacement part in google or here https://usparts.volvocars.com/ .  They should be Supersession(s) of each other. You can even get a third different part number as the current one.

Solved.

Volvo dealer reloaded the software and everything is working correctly now.

Hey,

I recently did the retrofit myself, and after a wrong steering module giving lots of fault codes I decided to buy a brand new module (32350377). Everything is working now again, except that when the dealer wants to install the module with vida they get a fault code that the hardware is not suited for the car as it didn’t come from the factory with a heated steering wheel. Also my dealer said they never heard that this could be done, so they don’t know what software is needed to program it. So my questions are: Does anyone know what software is needed to install the heated steering on my car?  Is it even an option to do in Europe? Do you for instance have to tell Volvo in Sweden about the hardware change?(this was something my dealer thought might would be needed)

The car is luckily completely working now, so if it’s a big job to do I think I leave it with this and let the hardware code not bother me. But I would like to get it officially installed so I don’t get in trouble with Volvo for the updates.
