Chassis type
#1
I have an XC60 T6 Momentum and under the chassis setting my car is set for comfort. I’ve been dying for firmer steering and have enabled Steering Personalization and the Drive Mode after making a button to change modes on the CCM. It always bothered me that I have to change to individual to get firmer steering every time I start the car. I was messing with some settings this morning and discovered that changing the Chassis Type to Sport Low made the steering feel even firmer than the High Setting for Individual Drive Mode does. There’s quite a few options like Sport High and Dynamic, taxi, police, etc. does anyone have any experience with what these actually mean and if they affect fuel economy?

We do know what these mean. In Volvo land, it's the suspension "spec" of the vehicle. Like for example I had an S60 with sport chassis option, the S60 without that  has "Dynamic Chassis"  config, and mine was set to "Sport Chassis Low". It's not always clear...which modules use that config information in the vehicle. Interestingly it seems you've found perhaps the PSCM (power steering module) does use the chassis type to set itself up.

Not having any evidence, but just based on my feeling about it, I would doubt the chassis type would have any affect on engine controls and hence fuel economy. I have wondered if the ESC, ABS and other dynamics systems are adjusted for the chassis type.

Thanks so much for the explanation! I didn’t want to test them all and go for random drives and determine if I was seeing anything just by “feel”.
