If you are referring to Camera itself and just replacement of an existing camera, VIDA would not detect it as an HW change. However, it might detect a retrofit OEM reverse camera as HW change and force to reload reverse camera software before allowing total upgrade just like it did for my retrofit plug and play IMS. (alarm motion sensor).

If you are talking about 360 WAM module, your car was already equipped with it and replacement WAM has the same or equivalent part / HW number as the original. That's why VIDA wouldn't have detected it as HW change.

Regarding the towing module,
Same as my situation for added IMS module. I had reverted all config to OEM but left the IMS connected and VIDA detected it as HW change and I had two options before I could install total upgrade.
1) IMS reload costs $250 > That makes it OEM config.
2) IMS remove costs $35
Although I removed (disconnected) the IMS module, did a fresh VIDA install on another laptop, did a fresh VIDA reload but it still showed the HW changes with the IMS disconnected.
At the end,  I installed IMS remove (paid $35), only then I could install total upgrade. Once all finished, I connected the IMS back, changed the config with IMS via Orbit, everything worked again.

Not sure if your dealer installed total upgrade during your visit. Maybe dealer's VIDA account is different than independent shop or personal account and allows total upgrade regardless of the detected HW changes.

Well shit. Sitting at Volvo service center and i thought i did everything according to the book.

1. replaced HK with HP amplifer
2. disconnected canbus from electric chairs.
3. reset car with orbit.

Car got blocked because of freaking module in my roof module (same unit as front roof light) Had this changed as i changed roof liner to black.

That is however the only bs we have come across yet, following other accessories are still connected without fault:

Backup camera
Keyless entry
4x doorcards with high-illumination
drive mode selector

Technician is gonna see if he can get the car unblocked with the help of another tech, ill keep the thread posted on what the resolution was :')

Are you sure that your car is blocked?
Volvo does not block the car for replaced equipment, it just displays them under Hardware change tab and forces to purchase "<ECU> reload"  before allowing total upgrade.
It still allows to purchase any software except total upgrade.

VOLVO blocks the car if VIDA detects if the car's configuration is altered. Since you've restored to OEM, it should not happen.
It may still force you to reload the added equipment though.

Sorry i used wrong terminology, you are correct. If i buy a new module within spec it will release the car.

Also my replaced door module was also accepted.
