Well you need a friendly technician which lets you install wireshark and ncap (admin rights needed) on the garage‘s computer to capture a software update 2.0 or pay for it.
If found that technician and i am in germany, i talked good to him.
If you are an american it‘s more easy due to the right of self repair, there are also other complicated ways to use VIDA on your own but it a lot of work.

So a quick update for anyone who comes across this with the same questions i had about being able to reset the battery life on a UK vehicle with sensus.
I bit the bullet and got myself an enet cable and the OrBit subscription with pin retrieval, the guys at Spaycetech were amazing and got me the CEM and VCM11 pins within 24 hours of me sending them my VIN, I genuinely don't know how they do it but I would love to know.
Anyways after getting the pins from Spaycetech I headed out to the car with the video and gave it a go. I'm glad to say that after it failed the first time, guessing because I had the engine running, it successfully reset the battery life and cleared the On Call service required error from the dash ?
TLDR: Yes it works on UK/Europe vehicles and the guys at Spaycetech can get all the pins you need without wiresharking a VIDA session.
