Massage seat only on drivers side?
#1
I currently have heated/ventilated seats with adjustable side support. I want to add massage but don't need it for the passenger side. I've bought a complete seat which has the massage function.

As I have side support, I shouldn't need to do any additional wiring. But will the seat modules work together ok with the other seat not having massage?

Will I be fine with just coding the feature in and the drivers side massage will work?

Passenger and driver seat controllers are independent. You can replace only the driver seat with the controller came with it and enable the massage option only for driver side.
Side supports and massage are the same controller built in the seat ECU. Since you already have the side support, I would connect the original seat controller to the new seat and enable the massage option from Orbit to see if it works.
This will save you the headache of "hardware changes" recognised by VIDA.

If the new seat with the original controller does not work, you have no choice other than using the new seat together with its own controller.

Thanks for the reply!

I’ll use the controller that came with massage seat. This is because my car originally only had heated seats. I retrofitted ventilated ones and did the wiring. I recently drove a car which had the massage option and decided that I need to have it. Since a normal ventilated seat vs one which has the massage look identical on the outside, I opted to go with just the drivers side seat to save on cost a bit.

I swapped out the seat and tried to change the config to have the massage function on just the drivers side seat. It didn't work despite resetting all ECU's.

I changed the config to "massage front seats". The function appeared but didn't work. After resetting all ECU's once again, it started working.
