Hello, is there a function in Orbit where you can see dpf state or force a regeneration?

DPF state is probably read from a DID. I would guess, it comes from the ECM. Have a look on the ECU Tools tab, set the Active ECU to ECM, then look or search in the list of DIDs that can be read. Send me a message at support if you don't see it! There might be something we can do if the information doesn't seem to be there.
DPF regeneration, is a possibility. I'd need to add it, but if it's a common enough thing that one would want to do, I can do it. It is possible to do some things like this leveraging the raw "ECU Cmd" feature with OrBit, which would let us try/test it and see if it works for you. Again reach out to me at support, I can get you through it likely, and if it is good, I can see about making that easier with a specific button on the service tab. I probably owe my diesel Volvo brothers and sisters a little love ;-) Maybe it makes sense to read the DPF state on connection and display it on the main tab in OrBit.

Hi, I am also interested dpf force a regeneration function. Any plans to add?

I too have a keen interest to be able to monitor the state of the DPF (for example, % dirty before the need to regen at 100% dirty) as I suffer from the infamous "oil overfilled" warning in the car's 'Status' screen. From what I've researched, this appears to be caused by only using the car for short journeys (15-20 minutes) that rarely gives the DPF a chance to re-generate when it needs to. And worse, if the DPF regen process is started, the act of stopping the car before it has finish the process (that can take up to 10 minutes) can cause diesel to make its way into the sump thereby diluting the engine oil and raising the oil level to trigger the "oil overfilled" warning.
If I were able to monitor the state of the DPF through Orbit I could determine when a DPF regen was close to being needed and ensure I take the car for a much longer run to ensure the regen happens. And confirm that it has by checking the DPF status thereafter. Others have been able to achieve this by using OBDII scanners live within the car. So presumably, the info is there to be read. Can anyone confirm whether Orbit can do this and how? TIA |
