Transmission reset and live data

Just to be clear...this is Reset Transaxle Adaptations correct? Don't want to play with something I am not understanding.

There is another service routine in VIDA called change of transmission oil due to jerkey shifting, you'll need to go through various specified test drive conditions. Typically as long as you are not experiencing shift quality issues, you don't need to reset the adaptation after fluid change, and there is no fluid counter reset on 8 speed.

Anyway, Volvo TSB wants you to address shifting quality issues in the following order: Update TCM software to latest --> Reset adaptation --> perform the above service routine and go through all the test drive steps --> Perform adaptation of TCM afterwards.
