Exhaust flap
#1
Hey,
Is there a way to influence the exhaust flap control?
Normally it doesn't make any difference, but I have a Bastuck exhaust where one side is straight-through and the other side is dampened.
And the straight-through is pretty to loud, so I've adopted Volvo's exhaust flap control, but it behaves strangely without any logic (for example, it opens when you downshift a gear with the steering wheel buttons in ECO/PURE mode, etc.) - would be cool if there's a possibility to do this through Orbit?

greetings,
uwe

Did you found proper settings in Orbit for this?

I have this feature on my T6 but never have seen any setting in OrBit to change its behavior. There’s a list of all options in the thread Excel list of Configuration Items

No, I didn't find anything about it in Orbit. There probably won't be anything either.

I've now insulated the straight pipe myself a bit so it's not as extremely loud anymore - on the straight I have the valve.

And the annoying thing is, during a cold start it opens up, which isn't nice for the neighbors in the morning. But with the hybrid I always set off on electric and only start the engine and the catalytic warm-up process once I'm on the highway.
Otherwise I control the valve with the rotary switch, which I'm glad I still have. On "Polestar Eng" it's always open, AWD, NORMAL and ECO it's always closed - except for the cold start, and somehow it's also louder when I shift with the steering wheel paddles, which I don't quite understand either but to be honest I hardly ever use

By the way, I also played around with the valve before the exhaust modification - as I said, it's open during cold start. But with the original T8 exhaust it makes no audible difference, which raises the question of why it's even installed in the first place.
Same thing with the intake air - I drove completely open as a test because I was thinking about changing the air filter, I'd especially like to hear the supercharger - but even there you can't hear any difference, even with the airbox open... but that's another topic Big Grin
