ABS Pump
#1
Hi,

I've encountered ABS/ESC, Traction and tire pressure warning lights on on my 2018 Volvo Xc40.
So far, Orbit shows that Front right wheel sensor fault, accompanied by 7-8 other failure messages.
Changed original ABS sensors for both front, swopped new sensors between right and left, changed right wheel bearing but issue persist. Cables were checked and deemed fine - voltage flowing.
Funny thing is after changing the ABS sensors the first time, all went well for 2 days before lights came on. Swopping left and right, and changing to another new sensor for front front throws lights on immediately. Then came changing the wheel bearing for front right, it went well for 2 days then came the lights again.
But this time, lights came on within the first 20 mins drive in the morning, after which the light remained off for the whole day.
Mechanic checked the whole day yesterday and deemed that the ABS pump is faulty.
As it is very costly to replace the pump, I wanna ask if anyone here has any suggestions or experience to what I'm encountering?
P.S. there's also a slight pulsating on the brake pedal ocassionally.

TIA

не думаю что причиной проблемы с датчиками является насос. Смените сервис.

I'm not sure about xc40 but in SPA cars a broken wire causes same kind of sympthoms. I just had same kind of sympthoms in my V90 and I think this is same kind of case.
The end of the wiring before sensor gets broken from inside the insulation and starting to throw errors randomly. You cannot see the broken part from outside because it is inside the insulation. You have to replace 20-30cm of wiring before the sensor. The crack is somewhere in the section of the wire that moves when wheels are turned. The conductor of the wire is very bad quality copper and you will notice this when soldering new wires for the old ones.
