Gearbox oil temperature
#1
Hello all, I am trying to change the gearbox oil myself, but I could not find any information about the oil temperature anywhere in the software. Can anyone help me and tell me how to find this parameter, or is it even possible to see it with Orbit?
Thank you very much for your help.

Hey, yes you can see this in there. If you go across the tabs there is the ECU tools. If you select the TCM, then under the ecu function request there is temperature under there. Theres multiple temperatures (including sometimes torque converter too) but should be straightforward of you filter by typing 'temp'.

I used it for my atf change a couple of months ago

I tried this today and wasn't sure how to use this since there are multiple entries listed with temperature under ECU Function Request.

Would be helpful if someone could describe a step-by-step guide, I didn't even dare to click Send to ECU  Big Grin

Just select the TCM and select the desired temp and hit send to ECU.
Don't worry it's just a diagnostic message sent to TCM and it responds.  It is not a realtime monitor. SO, you will need to request every couple of minute. If I am not mistaken you'll need it to be around 50 degrees.
