Ability to trigger the camera recalibration would be nice. I’m going to be replacing my grille soon and there is the possibility it might need a recalibration afterwards.

If you have. 2017-2018 (2016 for the XC90) and you swap to one 2019+ you don't have the same grille type. They changed WAM also from 2019

That's why S/V60 don't have this issue they are already on new style grille.

Ah. I should be ok going from 2019 to 2021 then. I’d heard it was an ok swap as long as the camera doesn’t get unplugged.

I still feel like a calibration might be in order as I’ve seen better alignment before so I know it’s possible.

I think I was mistaken about the front grille change? I thought the issue was going from the "Sensus" style front camera, to the "iCup/Android" style, where the front RADAR sensor was moved from the top of the windshield into the front badge (where the Volvo grille badge looks "solid"). This is not that?? It would be the change from 22.5 to 23 on the S/V60 models.

I guess I missed that there was a previous change, within the "Sensus" years.

Yep WAM was changed from <2018 to >2019

The grille got also changed where the same camera (same part) is angled differently.

This thread has the same.effect on XC90 changing the the newer concave grille.

Well now I’m paranoid because I have a 2019 and I’m trying to swap in a 2021 grille. I’ve measured and it appears to be about a 10 degree angle difference.

I guess the question is whether the 2019 WAM will compensate for it or not. There’s one report of someone doing the swap from a 2019 and not having distortion issues, so I’m hoping it’ll work out.

what code to send to WAM to activate the calibration of the camera parameters? Earlier you wrote that you can submit a manual process for this. I really want to.

It's in QC stage. Not yet anywhere near simple.

I am about to try it since my cameras are out and new/used WAM swap, this week of everything goes to plan
