Polestar TCM Tune Actually Enabled?
#1
Hey guys just wanted to put some feelers out there. I bought a 22 xc90 and used orbit to enable the "Transmission Tune". I understand the awd split, engine, etc is all an actual software update. I had the chance to drive a Polestar Optimized xc90 at work that was traded. (Im a JLR tech). Unless I messed something up, orbit does not enable the trans tune. The shift patterns and holding times are completely different. It is notably faster at shifting and is almost a track only kinda tune. Has anyone else had this experience as well or just me?

Polestar Optimization may or may not be included in your CEM firmware version. Some users have activated it via Orbit and report good performance results (or a placebo effect). Most report no change in practice (as in my case).

Sorry, but these statements are wholly incorrect.

Polestar is a number of things; it’s an engine tune, a transmission configuration and a AWD configuration.
The transmission tune can be enabled on most, if not all vehicles. AWD flash is possible, but requires individual software. The engine tune isn’t available - you can only purchase via dealer.

So, OP, you’ll be getting 1/3 on your vehicle - if it’s set correctly. What did you modify?

Is it possible the polestar config alone changes the AWD ratio on a T8? have a 2020 V90 T8 currently on “polestar engineered edition” option. In hybrid mode the power meter/electric power ratio is completely different compared to stock. Accelerating on electric only used to be a challenge, any real electric power was right on the switch point where ICE starts. On the polestar config electric power delivery it’s much more linear and i can easily accelerate without ever starting the ICE by accident. I guess this is “the pedal map” change but on a T8 it seems to be more than just a pedal/power ratio.
