Hey all, wanted to share a new feature we found rolled out with 5.0.5 update. Volvo added Stop/Start disable for Chinese market, so that makes it an available feature through config now for anyone! Set
Item 271 to "
01 Button without memory, standard symbol" to add the control to the menus in the car. Only this setting "without memory" works, Volvo did not implement a version with memory.
I have tested on my 2025 XC40 B5 (US Market) and confirmed it works. For those that would like to have occasional control over the Start/Stop without disable completely, you can have it. Anyone that tries this on a DCT equipped car (B2/B3 etc) let us know if it works!

Hi,
very good news!
Will this button work if permanently disabled to temporary activate it for the current drive via menu?
Best Regards JOS

I don't beleive so, the IHU only responds to this config item set to the "02" value, you would normally use the "03 No button..." value to completely disable start/stop. So you'd have to choose between those.

5.1.9 seems to add it in general, at least for some volvo models in germany, for my S60 B5 AWD MY23 its visible in the Volvo App release notes for 5.1.9, i think it will be implemented like on the chinese market without resistance.
