Today I was playing with OrBit and I noticed that now there are new setting options for "224 DEVICE MIRRORING" for my 2021 XC90 Sensus car. I tried and changed my setting from "04 With Carplay & AndroidAuto" to 0E USB and wireless device mirroring CarPlay and AndroidAuto" but instead of having both wired and wireless CarPlay and AndroidAuto , all CP and AA icons were gone , no CP or AA anymore . Locked the car and waited for a few minutes but still nothing, so I reverted back to 04 back to my working wired only CP & AA config. Anyone tried and have success making the wireless CarPlay work?

Wireless CarPlay cannot be activated on Sensus - simply not supported by the hardware.

In OrBit you will see a database of all available configurations covering Volvo, Polestar etc across the model range, so not all settings will work for all vehicles - it's trial and error if others haven't done it beforehand.

Hello,

I hope you are well.

I would like to introduce myself as a new member of the community. I recently joined and I’m glad to be part of the group.

I currently own a Volvo XC60 Sensus (2018, D4), and I am considering purchasing Orbit for my vehicle. I have a couple of questions before I proceed:

  1. I would like to activate Android Auto, but my vehicle has just one USB port and I don’t currently have wired Android Auto.
    • Is it possible to use Android Auto with this setup?
  2. Can Orbit work via Bluetooth, or would it require a cable connection?
  3. I also have an OBD connector such as vLinker FD+—would Orbit work through this type of OBD interface to enable Android Auto or any related features?
I would appreciate any guidance, feedback, or recommendations you may have regarding compatibility, required accessories, or user experience with this configuration.

Thank you in advance for your support, and I look forward to your insights.

Best regards,

I can answer #2: REQUIRES A CABLE.

Best regards,

1. Single USB port is absolutely fine I've run it this way for 3 years.
2. Only tethered Android Auto or Apple Car Play - need USB cable.
3. Cable only again - requires DoIP. Any BMW enet adapter will work. Can be found on likes of Amazon for $10. You do not need a specific Volvo adapter, anyone who tells you that you do is trying to sell you something Wink

thank you so much for you reply.
Glad to hear the configuration process is straightforward and safe. I’m going to take a look at the options and get the car configured over the next few days. Looking forward to getting it sorted!

My buddy, former BMW driver, gave me his old cable. It DID NOT work.
Bought this and it worked.

There are plenty for sale that that specify VOLVO compatibility...why not just buy one of those?

RE: Android Auto and Caplay activation - Terence - 01-28-2026

There may be differences in cables. My BMW ENET cable was too tight for Volvo OBD port. It works fine with this kind of adapter ->

RE: Android Auto and Caplay activation - x119 - 01-28-2026

OBD II is a standard. So is DoIP.

Volvo compatibility is a sales statement. It bares no merit in truth. BMW ENET = Volvo VOE.
