Answer: got the memory stick 64gb. Copy all the files to pendrive and was detected straight away (exFAT) . Installing Europe maps now. So the 2,5' hard drive won't work.
For everyone who has old and slow 2,5" HDD hard drives laying around and don't want to purchase new 64GB USB drive: They seems to be working fine with SATA -> USB A adapter.
I just did it that way couple of days ago without any problems. I did NTFS format for old 500GB 2,5" HDD without partition. When I was running map downloading tool in Windows there were two options: USB and Hard drive without further information which one to choose. I chose USB because the hard drive was connected to laptop via usb adapter. I'm not sure does it matter which option you choose but worked well that way.
