Might this Japanese modifications to the ACC on LVL2 might be related to smaller roads, different optimizations for crowded slow traffic in JPN (super crowded -> so earlier connecting to the next car leaving less space maybe??) and less sensitivity to optimize for smaller and curvier japanese roads? At least those suggestions puts co-pilot on the table to me.

So we might expect less smooth ACC experience with LVL2 maybe, but more dynamic/sport, closing gaps more quicker for example?

Does this fit anyones experiences?

This stuff will likely be down to local regulatory variations. 

Try it and see - only Volvo knows the facts here.

I assumed this was for left and right hand drive variations. Meaning which side of the lane the car stayed closer to the center line.
