Flashing S90 2018 for Carplay - Timeout errors - Cheeze439 - 07-24-2025 Hi I'm new, got my pin and my cable today, followed a video guide on activating Carplay on my Sensus system... all starts well but it fails when writing the changes: OrBit Connected Generated new config data Starting Config flash process Check Active OK Checking Critical ECUs are awake Start programming mode routine Checking mode and status for programming Checking ECUs are ready... Requesting programming mode Waiting to reconnect... Timeout after 17 sec for gateway to return, failing program routine Recovering from failure, wait for programming mode timeout and reconnect... Reconnecting... Reconnected to: <hidden> Connection successful Waiting for ECUs to be ready Reconnecting... Reconnected to: <hidden> Connection successful Waiting for CEM to be ready... CEM is connected, proceeding Reading Car Info ECU flash FAILED! Error Reason: Gateway (VCM/TCAM) connection did not return in time from prog mode boot request! OrBit Connected Any ideas? I have tried all the troubleshooting steps also. RE: Flashing S90 2018 for Carplay - Timeout errors - Nicolicius - 07-25-2025 Hey there, Thanks for sharing the logs — seems like the flash process fails during gateway communication. Here’s a quick list of things to check, just to help narrow it down: Connection & Hardware - What cable are you using? (Ethernet or USB?) - Which USB port on your laptop? (Try USB 2.0 if possible) - Are you using a direct connection (no USB hubs or adapters)? Vehicle Power & Voltage - Was a battery charger or power supply connected during the process? - Do you know what the Voltage was during flashing? (Ideally: 13.2–14.0V) - Was the ignition set to Position II (engine off, but dash on)? Flash Procedure - Did the tool show "ECUs ready" (Info Page in Orbit) before entering programming mode? - Did you touch or unlock the car during programming? (Important: hands off!) Would recommend checking voltage first — if it drops below ~12.3V, gateways sometimes refuse flash mode. Let us know the answers to these and we can help better! RE: Flashing S90 2018 for Carplay - Timeout errors - Cheeze439 - 07-25-2025 After trying a lot of things I got it working by running the software as administrator. Posting this in case it helps in the future, could maybe be added to the list of things to try. I have an Ethernet to obd2 cable. RE: Flashing S90 2018 for Carplay - Timeout errors - Cheeze439 - 07-25-2025 Spoke too soon. Worked the once and once only. Now nothing I try works. Could it be a problem with your VOE adapter? Is it a quality one or a generic one? Has the battery voltage remained above 12.3V? |
