ASDM Calibration procedure? - bowditchsmith - 07-17-2025 So about 2 months ago I had to have my windshield replaced. it was replaced by safelight, and a calibration was performed and documented. I hadn't had any issues with it until this week, but wanted to identify that it was recently serviced. On Monday of this week I was driving home and I had a pop up error on my dash: "City Safety - Reduce functionality Service Required" followed by a few others as I fooled around trying to activate some the other features tied to the module. ACC and Pilot assist. over the course of ownership I have had a handful of miscellaneous messages pop up, but they've always gone away after a few minutes or after a restart. This one hasn't. I started reading up on it online and it seems to point towards the ASDM unit (radar and camera assembly above the rear view mirror) Yesterday I fired up orbit to try and clear the code and reset the ASDM, it looks like I put it into a calibration mode. It looks like I started it, but was unable to complete it as it didn't list any of the steps that needed to be follow in order to complete the calibration. But after driving the car (having made no adjustments to the physical camera) I was able to get the road sign recognition to come back online, so something is still working. My windshield drains are clear, there doesn't appear to be any water in the ceiling. I found the attached video online which covers some of the calibration process, and looks like it requires a calibrating level to complete it, and a mix of translation for the driving procedure. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyTx-REw2Lg Has anyone had any luck with servicing the ASDM from home? Is orbit capable of doing this procedure. and in the event that the ASDM is bad, can I program a used one to replace it using orbit? or do I need to bite the bullet and replace it with a new part? and below is a photo of the road sign recognition coming back online.
