AUX In retrofit Sensus - ayastrebov - 03-03-2025 Hi folks! As many of you know, Volvo removed the AUX-in port at some point. However, it can still be activated, which I successfully did. Unfortunately, the wiring is missing. Has anyone already tried retrofitting an AUX input? Which wires need to be added? I suppose they should be connected directly to the IHU. Maybe someone with VIDA access could check the wiring diagram? RE: AUX In retrofit Sensus - IMAY2023 - 03-03-2025 I never sow in the general wiring diagrams. but it used be on the USB port. Like the CD player, they removed it too. IHU models up to 2019 has a CD input at the back of the IHU. From 2020 and up that CD input no longer exists. They might have done the same with AUX in port. VIDA shows wiring according to the VIN. That means, you need to find a car that has the AUX in and check according to its VIN. RE: AUX In retrofit Sensus - Danniu - 03-11-2025 I also want to know how to add AUX audio input interface. Do you have any friends who know? RE: AUX In retrofit Sensus - Vladexorcist - 04-11-2025 I hope someone succeeds RE: AUX In retrofit Sensus - x119 - 04-12-2025 Question; what are you guys using this for? Why not use AA or ACP? Audio quality is much better than Aux / BT. RE: AUX In retrofit Sensus - ayastrebov - 04-26-2025 Ok, I've found some information about it, should be easy to add. This is AUX wiring diagram from a V90 with aux from the factory As you can see, it's required to add only 3 wires and a shield (not mandatory) and connect it to the socket B B6 - plus signal B7 - plus signal B22 - ground B25 - shield (04-12-2025, 07:26 AM)x119 Wrote: Question; what are you guys using this for? Why not use AA or ACP? Audio quality is much better than Aux / BT. On sensus systems the BT version is very very old and it doesn't support modern audio codecs. As a result, the BT audio sucks. I'm expecting to get a way better quality from the AUX input. Also it may be useful when installing 3rd party full-screen CarPlay/AndroidAuto boxes, so that it's possible to connect sound output with aux. RE: AUX In retrofit Sensus - ChainedAlice - 04-26-2025 I think folks are a bit hyper critical on BT. Now, my ears are definitely damaged from too many front rows at metal shows...but I wouldn't go so far as to sat "BT Audio" sucks. May not be Amazing...but "sucks" is overkill. |
