discover sensus software version from orbit - tuleggi - 02-27-2025

Dear all,
is there a way to check the installed software version in a sensus car?
I would like to check if the dealer really installed the February update but I could not find where to look in Orbit - is it possible? if not can it be qdded in a future update?
thanks

They don’t really provide like software update build numbers. But based on what is said here:
https://www.volvocars.com/en-ca/support/car/xc40/19w46/software-release-notes/

I guess you could try to remote start the car, then unlock the car via the Volvo app, then try to lower the windows? If you can, then I think you got the latest update for Sensus vehicles? At least, I think that’s what they are saying? Because if I start the ignition of my ‘20 XC40 with my fob, then walk outside, leave the fob inside my house, come back outside to the running vehicle, I for sure can still adjust the windows, and the last VIDA total upgrade I did was in December ‘24 (a total upgrade is what they do at the dealer/Volvo 3rd-party shop with VIDA to update Sensus, and other vehicle modules). I can only think that windows wouldn’t respond in a remote start situation. Love for anyone to correct me on the above assumptions of the release notes. ?

In Orbit, you can grab build numbers of the modules in your car, but I don’t think their build numbers are dated based, nor are older build numbers available online. If you had a VIDA subscription and the app, it would allow you to check all actions performed by any shop / person with VIDA to your car, as reported by VIDA servers. That would include if someone did perform a total upgrade.

Check your Volvo Cars app. Tap the car icon and scroll about down to About your car. There is your software version.

Are you sure for Sensus vehicles? Mine has a Car Software tab that doesn’t show anything (just a blank page with the words “Car Software” at the top). Vehicle Details section doesn’t show a version, just VIN, tank size, etc.

Mine shows the current software version (2021 V90 T6, Sensus).

FYI I have tried but it does not work, after that I remote start the car, the windows do not open.
Anyone else who got the update of February can please try? Thanks
