Park Assist System Temporarily Unavailab - JERMB - 10-31-2024 Hello, My car has issue with parking sensors, on cluster shows: park assistance temporarily unavailable and front, end sensors are not working. I checked DTC, but no relevant codes appear. Checked auxiliary battery (which was installed new 1 month ago) looks good. Start/stop function works properly. Installed WAM module (was dead) calibrated cameras, but still sensors doesn't work. Any other suggestion how to start parking sensors to work? Car: 2017 XC90 T6 RE: Park Assist System Temporarily Unavailab - IMAY2023 - 10-31-2024 Check the sensors, if one of them is faulty the system will not work. The easiest way to check the sensor is by listening to it. When sensor detects an obstacle it makes a ticking noise. If you do not hear it (you need to get really close), then the sensor(s) is faulty. RE: Park Assist System Temporarily Unavailab - JERMB - 10-31-2024 Is sensors still working while cluster indicates assistant unable? I am thinking that after notification accursed all parking system with sensors are disabled. RE: Park Assist System Temporarily Unavailab - IMAY2023 - 10-31-2024 No should not, you still be able to test the sensors. Besides, in the ECU Tolls TAB you have command to request distance from the sensor(s) Check the CEM commands. RE: Park Assist System Temporarily Unavailab - JERMB - 11-01-2024 Tried activate sensors via yours mentioned command, but orbit shows on log window unexpected error. Are there any possibilities, that PAM has been dead? Where it is located? Is it possible some how to test it? Or if orbit shows, cannot access to module it means, PAM already dead? RE: Park Assist System Temporarily Unavailab - IMAY2023 - 11-02-2024 The sensors are connected directly to CEM. As I said, if one of the sensors is faulty the whole system would not respond but the individual sensors will still send signal. Put the car into reverse and check each sensor if you hear a ticking noise. (you will need to listen closely). Then do the same on front sensors by putting the car to drive. RE: Park Assist System Temporarily Unavailab - JERMB - 11-02-2024 Thanks for update! Just recently tried to listen very closely, front and end sensors puting transmission to D, later R, but unfortunately did not hear any noise. Is there any other options? Checked all sensors with multimeter, all shows similar results, so assuming, that they are good. RE: Park Assist System Temporarily Unavailab - IMAY2023 - 11-02-2024 If you do not here ticking noise on any of the sensors most likely you have short in the wiring or one or more sensors are shorting out. Unfortunately, if any of the sensors is faulty, the whole system is down. (design by VOLVO). So, try to isolate the problem. From the Orbit, You can select only rear parking. If it works, then you'd know the problem is at the front. If it does not work, you'd know there is problem on the rear. Not sure if you have parking pilot assist (12 sensors), but if you do not have it and you put the 142 > Semi automatic, you will have this issue. RE: Park Assist System Temporarily Unavailab - JERMB - 11-03-2024 Yeah, I had 12 sensors, there was set semi automatic. I switched to rear and tried to test, but error appeared. Of course I did not closed car and waited for few minutes. Is it necessary to do this after any configuration? RE: Park Assist System Temporarily Unavailab - IMAY2023 - 11-04-2024 Yes you might need to. If the problem exists, then you might have a problem with one of the side sensors or the harness is shorting somewhere. |
