Electric seats - Apansson - 08-25-2024 Looking to replace textile seats for some leather ones. Today the seats are heated and manual. It’s quite hard to find manual leather seats. Are electric seats plug n play? Is it any problem to program these to the car at the dealer? Car is an XC40. Since your current seats are manual, most likely either you do not have the seat controller at all or bunch of missing wiring. If you purchase used seats make sure the airbag is not blown and have the controller under the seat. Then you 'll need to wire the missing ones (depending on the features of the used seat) then you will need to enable those features from the orbit. I’m thinking electric seats without memory might could be working since I got the heating? There’s a module under the seat, at least for the heating.(08-25-2024, 10:58 AM)Apansson Wrote: Looking to replace textile seats for some leather ones. Today the seats are heated and manual. The heated seats have their own LIN module under the seats, connected to the CCM. When you press on the heated seats on screen, Center display sends LIN command to IHU and IHU sends turn on heated seats command to CEM via Flexray bus then CEM sends command to CCM via CAN BUS and finally CCM sends LIN command to the module under the seats. It has nothing to do with Seat module nor the memory seats. Electrick and memory seats are different. Not all electric seats have memory option. The motors are different between with and without memory seats. Memory ones have position sensors inside the motors. (4 wires on each motor) connected to the Seat module. Memory button on the door is connected to the door module in LIN, and the Door module is connected to the seat module in CAN bus. The memory positions are stored in the seat module. RE: Electric seats - ana100 - 09-29-2024 The seat memories mixing passages and driver seats. And the display showing seat extension and lumbar support show the wrong side, but works OK... So if the communication between door modules, power seat modules (PSMD, PSMP), CEM and CCM are all in going in the same CAN, how is the definition of driver / massager seat module done. Modules look like the same, same part numbers? @IMAY2023 :-) RE: Electric seats - IMAY2023 - 10-04-2024 Modules are not the same. They are different and the software inside them are also different. Hello, modules are exactly similar, at least the same Volvo part number, only serial number is different. I switched the modules with each other, still exactly the same behavior. Car thinks the right seat is the driver seat and vice versa. BUT - I think I found it from the wiring diagrams . If You check the passager seat wiring, from PSM module, there is the pin A21 - "Passenger_GND" connected to the ground. A21 is not connected at all. This must be it... I will try tomorrow. RE: Electric seats - IMAY2023 - 10-05-2024 That is strange. Check the part number if it fits your car. FYI the way VOLVO communicates with the ECUs and modules via CAN BUS is quite different than other manufactures. Each module has its unique message ID. Not only that; the message ID differs from car to car for each model and year. Meaning two identical model and year VOLVO might have completely different message ID for the same exact module. VOLVO justifies this by saying "Consumer theft Protection" . I hope connecting the missing PIN in your case solves the issue. If not, you might need to reload the controllers via VIDA. The problem is, you might not be able to if the part number number is no listed as compatible to your VIN in the VOLVO database. RE: Electric seats - ana100 - 10-06-2024 SUCCESS! There was no pin A21 on the passenger seat harness connecting to PSM (ex-driver seat from UK). Took the pin from the driver side (ex-passenger seat from UK car), wired it to the seat metal frame. And yes, now car recognizes the right seats. Memories, lumbar and seat extension, all work as they should. SUCCESS x2! Found finally those micro fuse tab connectors, so got the power to heating the seats. LIN cables connected also. Coding the seats with Orbit -> seat heating works! Thanks everybody for help! Great site, great software! |
