ADD Normal Cruise Control - GerneralDisarray - 09-09-2026

Hey, I just purchased my first Volvo, 2022 S90 B6. It has come to my attention that Volvo has disabled normal cruise control in the vehicle, and I only have Adaptive, and Driver Assist modes. This is really frustrating.
I have seen threads where it tell how to add the Adaptive Cruise Control, but not how to add Normal Cruise Control.
Is that an option using the OrBit system? Assuming it is, would that delete the adaptive cruise mode, or would it just be a third option?
I appreciate all the help you can offer, because I love the car, but this lack of feature has me reconsidering.
Thanks.

RE: ADD Normal Cruise Control - Steffe - 09-09-2026

It's not available on the steering wheel on any afaik, unless the car doesn't have adaptive CC. Have you checked the menus? I have to disable adaptive manually that way if I for some reason wanted to use the normal cruise control.

Granted mine is Sensus, but I'd guess there's a setting on AA-cars as well.

So far there isn't any option in the menus. I am getting the AAOS updated as we speak, but I am concerned it still wont be there.

Can the OrBit be used to add the normal cruise control?

RE: ADD Normal Cruise Control - jos - 09-09-2026

I have a S60 B5 AWD MY23 i can only switch between ACC AND Pilot Assist which also stears instead of only holding speed and distance. Afaik no option to go from ACC to CC, there is also no off in the distance changer low to max no off.

I don‘t know if Orbit can make ACC to AC just wanted to share what my model offers by oem.
I read that Sensus offers switching it by holding CC Button, maybe wrong information but if you are on AAOS this won‘t work.

In AAOS you can just set which system goes active by default, im my car settings i can decide whether to start with AAC or Pilot Assist, i personally don't like how it stears.

Maybe the following config options are interesting:
  • 023. CRUISE CONTROL Without cruise control
  • 023. CRUISE CONTROL With cruise control
  • 023. CRUISE CONTROL Adaptive cruise control, level 1
  • 023. CRUISE CONTROL Adaptive cruise control stop & go, level1
  • 023. CRUISE CONTROL not in use
  • 023. CRUISE CONTROL Adaptive cruise control, level 2
  • 023. CRUISE CONTROL Adaptive cruise control stop & go, level 2
  • 023. CRUISE CONTROL Adaptive cruise control, level 3
  • 023. CRUISE CONTROL Adaptive cruise control stop & go, level3

I just found it in the config options table, never changed it on my own.

Would be funny if that works for you to disable an existing system instead just having a button function or system settings, strange.
This isn't a criticism of you, but of Volvo if it's not easy to do.

I press my thumbs that someone answers who already tried this, else purchase and give it a try, but support possibly has an answer, wait for the big boys ;-)
Funny in nearly started every sentence with "I", singleton...  Big Grin
