OrBit v1.3.7 release notes - Power6 - 09-16-2026
OrBit 1.3.7 is released! This update introduces a few new features as well as a whole lot of refinements under the covers, updates to the user interface, and good old bug fixes. We are failing at more frequent releases still, but a couple months is not so bad, right?
NOTE: With the release of this OrBit version, only this new release and the previous release v1.3.4.5 will be supported! Older versions of OrBit will fail login process due to the changes made, we had to leave them behind. OrBit notifies you when an updated version is available, don't skip it! If you do, we don't have any sympathy for you ;-)

New features:
Prog Test - New Prog Test routine to test the programing process without making any changes to the car. Useful for troubleshooting and resolving issues with "stuck" modules.
Add ERAD and EFAD calibration routines - Support calibrating replaced ERAD, EFAD or Inverter modules.
Air Suspension Fill/Deflate - Added dialog to manually fill and deflate air suspension system for service.
New Config Advisor - Config Advisor can be opened from Dashboard or the Config tabs, it reads the car config and suggests popular config changes that are compatible with the connected car. The logic will be updated with more of the "lesser known" tweaks in the future.
New Service Procedures - **New procedures are published outside of OrBit software updates, however I call them out here as some require new version of OrBit to support them and they are not otherwise announced:
Infotainment - Sensus Map delete (fix bug in procedure)
Safety - SRS Calibrate Inertial Sensors (fix bug for 2024-up)
Updated Features:
Updated filters to simplify Configurator - "Show Everything" is removed. The default filter is automatically set to "OrBitEZItems" to show the previous default set of typically used config items, which has been expanded to include many more common config items OrBit users are looking for. The complete list of config items that previously required checking the "Show Everything" box to be seen, can now be viewed by simply clearing the search filter box, or choosing "Clear Filter" from the "Quick Filter" dropdown list.
Add label to graphing function of DIDs - Add the DID name so it is easier to identify the data logged when monitoring many parameters.
Expanded car status - Usage mode and Telematics status added to the Car Status display when connected in OrBit. Air suspension status renamed to Chassis, will be expanded with chassis status beyond active chassis cars in the future.
Usage mode control - Usage mode control manually through the Usage Mode status (Inactive, Active, Driving etc.). Click on the status button to open dialog to set the usage mode as well as optionally return control from OrBit to the car when setting the mode.
Telematics status guides on problem state - Currently only VCM Backup Battery (BuB) lifetime expiration is detected. The user can click on the status button and go through a guided process to recommend the solution, determine if a PIN is needed and reset the BuB lifetime.
"Private" ECUs added to ECU Info - Info is collected and ECUs are handled for modules managed by the CEM: IMS, BBS, OHC, SWM, BMS, WPC, PAKM. Flashing software to the private ECUs is now possible. (Some ECUs previously partial info was already collected where the private ECU responds to diagnostics directly)
Additional information displayed in ECU Info - Added more information stored and displayed in ECU Info: VIN reported for each module that reports it, VIN from VCM certificate loaded, distance (odometer) for each module that reports it. For HCMs, the code string numbers programmed to the HCMs are shown to allow easily comparing to the codes printed on the headlight part sticker.
Expanded capabilities for software packages - Additional capability added to software packages to cover more cases of complete module software programming and adoption steps automated with the OrBit Software Package.
Updated key programming process info - Added correct graphic for new 2026 Volvos to show the correct key fob placement for the revised interior console.
Login to Orbit - Mostly invisible changes improve reliability, but also some tweaks made: you can cancel the login after entering incorrect code, and login codes sent to email are now valid for 5 minutes (previously 2 minutes)
Improvements and Fixes:
Update Profile - Steamlined profile update, finding new ECUs is no longer required to choose when updating the profile.
Security PIN Extract- Updated the process to handle CEM changes, fix cases where the extract would fail.
ECM Type detection- Recognize Bosch vs Denso ECM and load correct diagnostic data information
Config Wizard fix audio config display - Fix applied settings shows Harman/Kardon is applied for Bowers & Wilkins config, and vice versa.
Recovery from software flash failures - Fixed bugs and improved software flashing to recover critical modules after failed flash, when the critical module is offline.
Improvements to package software downloads - Further improvements to software package downloading, recognize offline state, skip files already cached, fix bug in downloading hosted files.
Disconnected car improvements - Disconnected car is recognized when present and not present state changes, as well as lost connection to the connected car when unplugged to set the connected state correctly in OrBit.
Fix bug in Usage mode control on late 2026 cars - OrBit can now properly control the usage mode on late 2026 and newer SPA/CMA platform cars.
Login process improvement - Updated for reliability and now can "cancel" login after code is rejected to go back to the initial login step without need to enter 3 rejected codes.
Various bug fixes and reliability improvments - The usual catch all, just like Volvo release notes!
