Tailgate Kick Sensor - juzzmee - 05-25-2026

Hi,

Is there a setting in Orbit for the kick sensor?
Kick sensor is suddenly not responsive and my workshop was telling me that after I replaced my read bumper lower trim, I should reset my kick sensor.
It did work once when i was wiping down the rear bumper after washing the car.
Does it make sense?

Did you ever get to solve this problem? I changed the foot sensor and now it beeps but won't work. Thanks

Does it beep twice? Maybe the key is too far away, or blocked by a mobilephone or other device in your pocket. Check also the antenna(s) for the keyless entry and whether they are plugged in correctly. To me it happened that the middle antenna in the trunk got disconnected.

Yes, there is a setting for it to set the type of it if installed.
My 2019 S60 t5 came from factory with it, the only work done on my rear bumper was adding the side parking sensors for semi automatic parking and it never operated flawlessly before or after as if it has its own mind.
No key or receiver issues since we could open the trunk by hand at the same spot.   My son would use his foot, it opens while I am standing next to him. Then I would try at the same spot, same movements but it would not open.
Sometimes it would just open when I am cleaning the top of the trunk but when I really needed it, damn thing never worked.

Yeah, absolutely. If one of those trunk sensors doesn't work on the first try, you definitely start feeling pretty silly after the second failed attempt. It probably looks kind of ridiculous too. It only feels cool and effortless if it works reliably.  Big Grin
