Hello
I’ve got an P2 2021 which doesn’t have wireless carplay in its spec.
Now I’m looking for a similar car for a friend and found a 2022. When checking its factory spec it says: 8G0B Wireless device mirroring, CarPlay & AndroidAuto.
Does later model cars have wireless carplay?

Hi,
i have a S60 MY23 (with all features) and there is no wireless carplay, i use an adapter for this, have a second phone permanently in the car (multi-sim) which goes to flight mode when not in carplay mode and speed camera app also goes to sleep, when it comes back to charging...carplay (ignition) phone goes off flight-mode and start speed camera warnings.
To answer your question i don't think that there will be wireless carplay, maybe because of volvos closed wifi and or their safety reasons, a phone on cable is harder to handle as a freak without leash
i've disabled the wireless charging pad, i don't like unwired stuff, it cooks battery, its not efficient and everything that runs wireless drains battery

Reason why we don't have Wireless Carplay is due to licensing and cost, as it required additional certification as well as the HomeKit crypto layer, which is an additional Apple's licensing agreement the Volvo/Polestar needs to pay for. These are set before the models are released and usually multi year agreements
