JA option - Headlights symmetry - R1maS - 05-22-2023

OrBit has no "JA01/02 HEADLIGHTS,SYMMETRY US symmetry/EU symmetry" or simply I do not see it on the list of config parameters?

RE: JA option - Headlights symmetry - Power6 - 05-24-2023

Hey buddy!

That is correct, there is no corresponding setting, because there are no config items driven off that variant. Some variants are like that, they are just informational, don't affect the car config.

Now I'm just the expert in the bits and bytes of the system. My understanding is the HCM is reading item 8 (LHD/RHD) and 106 (headlight type) and that is enough to set the beam pattern.

But maybe there is something else you are trying to do...

What about 111 Tourist light?
It has: 01 without configurable Tourist Light
02 Left asymmetry with configurable Tourist Light
03 Right asymmetry with configurable Tourist Light

I guess this is for UK cars who drive over to Europe and change from driving on left to driving on right and vice versa.
In some cars you can set your lights when you cross over so that you don't blind oncoming traffic. Long time ago that was achieved by putting small stickers on your headlights in the area where the beam was pointing. Not sure for which vehicle this applies.

Correct - can confirm this is factory on UK vehicles.
