Were you able to resolve the issue? It just generates a worklist, and I can't do anything else. Have you ever encountered this issue? Do you know if it's possible to do it through the European website?
RE: DIY CEM (and VGM) PIN Retrieval for Volvo and Polestar - IMAY2023 - 07-18-2025 You are on the wrong TAB. Click on the software installation TAB. It should show you "Upgrades, HW changes, Functional Changes and All " 4 TABs Upgrades: Total Upgrade (If available for your car) HW changes: Will show the replaced ECUs only. If you have not replaced any programmable module, it would be blank. If you replaced any ECU such as AUD, it will show up there and VIDA won't let you to perform total upgrade as long as you see items in there. It must be empty to perform total upgrade. Functional Changes: Optional features available for your VIN. Such as adding heated steering wheel, changing the wheel / tire size. They are mostly configuration changes which can be done via Orbit. The only difference, VIDA makes the changes official. All: If you would like to reload ECU even if it's not replaced. Such as. You replaced your headlights without replacing the HCM unit. You will need to reload HCM and go through the configuration process where you enter specific details of the replacement headlight. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzPlPGDUck8 RE: DIY CEM (and VGM) PIN Retrieval for Volvo and Polestar - leandro.vitali - 07-18-2025 (07-18-2025, 10:16 PM)IMAY2023 Wrote: You are on the wrong TAB. I tried all the tabs, but the update option doesn't have any button to run it. A hardware error appeared, which I don't even know where it came from (I didn't change anything), which I can't do either, there are no options, please, take a look at the images. https://ibb.co/ch6b8fH7 https://ibb.co/XZSkg1XB https://ibb.co/5hzVqzKy https://ibb.co/5XZmKbLH https://ibb.co/DHp7rrWG https://ibb.co/XZBVxSV3 https://ibb.co/qY1Z6hfL https://ibb.co/cccjSHq6 RE: DIY CEM (and VGM) PIN Retrieval for Volvo and Polestar - calebu2 - 10-25-2025 I'm having issues getting the CEM PIN. I have been able to get the VGM pin, but the CEM pin is not in the logs. Am I doing something wrong? There can be several reasons for it. 1) You did not add the software purchase and installation in your three day VIDA subscription during purchase. 2) In VIDA admin where you configure the user, you did not added the rights to the user. 3) You are not in USA or CANADA. As far as I know, in EU countries, individual repair shops and DIY users cannot purchase software directly, they should order from VOLVO dealer for their account. If you are in USA or CANADA and indeed included the software installation in your license (check your order confirmation email), open a support ticket at volvo bookstore website. RE: DIY CEM (and VGM) PIN Retrieval for Volvo and Polestar - calebu2 - 10-25-2025 So on a Polestar 2 If you dont "connect" to your car, you can still run a config test and this will get you your VGM PIN. But you need to connect then order to get all the pins. My ethernet adapter (or laptop) was not compatible and kept causing VIDA to crash when connecting (which is why I thought i had succeeded when I used the offline mode to order. Switching to a new laptop with built in ethernet fixed things. RE: DIY CEM (and VGM) PIN Retrieval for Volvo and Polestar - phresh - 10-28-2025 I just wanted to add that I followed this original post exactly for my 2023 xc90 phev (CEM and VGM) and it retrieved my pins as advertised. I found the VIDA posts on page 8 very helpful. Remember to note order number from the configuration test order (you will be prompted to enter that). As stated in other places, just start the car if you get a battery voltage warning after clicking on install for the configuration test. With these pins, orbit cracked the security pin and programed 2 keys for me. In hindsight, I wouldn't have bothered with VIDA and just would have paid for the pin service. I like doing things myself and thought it was a good chance to check VIDA out. I'm not sure it is worth the hassle. Excellent Software! |
