But I have no other option. If VIDA shows you those modules under HW changes TAB, this means the installed HW part numbers are different than the VOLVO DBs. Might be the previous owner replaced them? If not, the configuration test software might be able to clear those modules showing up in the HW change TAB. First, I want to reboot the new management modules. (WAM and AUD). And install updates. I want to connect the SWM module to the video after these procedures, but I still haven't found any information where I can download the option to heat the steering wheel. So far, I only see the possibility of restarting the SWM (but the update for the steering wheel will probably load without heating). or should I also order a configuration test and replace the native seat and steering wheel modules with other modules? RE: Seat Retrofit -- New Module is throwing codes - IMAY2023 - 11-13-2025 For heated steering wheel. The SWM replacement is required because your original SWM does not have the heated steering wheel wires. Before replacing the SWM, check under functional changes TAB if you have the option "add heated steering" software. Don't order it yet if you see it. First you will need to replace the SWM module. Then you connect the VIDA to the car. VIDA might show you both SWM reload and heated steering or only the SWM reload under the HW changes TAB. If you see both, first order and install the heated steering wheel. Because it might already include the SWM software in it. If that's the case after installation completes, SWM reload will disappear from the HW changes TAB after you refresh the page or perform a fresh readout. You are done! I replaced my ABS module for installing Pilot Assist and ACC officially. After I replaced it, VIDA showed me two HW changes (BSM reload and Intelli safe PA and ACC). I ordered and installed Intelli Safe and not the BSM reload. After that, BSM reload was gone and I got my PA and ACC officially because it already included BSM, ABS software in it. I also replaced my IHU with a newer one from a 2022 S60 (used). VIDA showed me two options under HW changes TAB. Market certificate and IHU reload. I installed market certificate because it was $100 cheaper than IHU reload. After that, IHU reload was gone and I could run total upgrade. If you see only the SWM reload under the HW changes. First, you will need to order and install it and then from the functional changes TAB you will need to order and install heated steering wheel. In the first image, I don't have the option to add a new swm module. In the second image, there is an option to reboot the SWM. (It's inactive because I'm not connected to the car right now). The possibility of heating, I have not found anywhere. RE: Seat Retrofit -- New Module is throwing codes - IMAY2023 - 11-14-2025 So, After you install your new SWM to the car and perform readout, Either heated steering wheel or reload SWM or both should show up under "Hardware changes" TAB. If it's both, first install the heated steering wheel. It might already contain the SWM software in it. If it's only showing SWM, you will need to install it and do a new redout. You should see heated steering wheel under the functional changes. I managed to reload the modules AUD and WAW (installed used modules). Then I was able to upload global upgrade ( Version 3.7). I was prompted with another option how can I cheat VIDA and replace my seat modules. I downloaded the global upgrade to my computer, started installing the update, and replaced the original modules with other (used) ones. But during the installation of the VIEW, I got an error, a module mismatch. I had to install the original modules back. The global upgrade has been successfully installed. Then I connected an unoriginal SWM module (used with heating). Vida discovered it and invited me to download the software. 1. Heated steering wheel 2. Reload SWM 3. Reload SAS I chose - 1. Heated steering wheel. However, during the installation process, a message appeared that the SAS module could not be restarted. I tried to do this several times, but it was all unsuccessful. The service that specializes in Volvo said that the SAS module cannot be restarted if the module has already been used. Now all I have to do is buy a new SWM module and reload. I also have a desire to replace the seat modules. But I'm not sure if it will be possible to do this through a reboot of the configuration. RE: Seat Retrofit -- New Module is throwing codes - IMAY2023 - 11-16-2025 SAS is the steering angle sensor module. If the replacement SWM module has the new SAS in it. You should be able to reload and calibrate it. There is a procedure for it under SAS then install the Heated steering wheel. What service representative meant is that a used SAS from another vehicle can not be reprogrammed. Is your SWM used or not? Quote: also have a desire to replace the seat modules. But I'm not sure if it will be possible to do this through a reboot of the configuration. If the replacement seat controllers are from the exact model as your car, you should be able to replace and reload them from VIDA. Check the part number of the replacement units and verify if they are listed as replacement part for your VIN. Let's say if it's not. First while the original units are installed purchase the configuration test but do not install it yet. Replace the seat controllers with the new ones while VIDA is connected and waiting to instal configuration test. Then install the configuration test. This should update the VOLVO DB with new HW parts of the replacement seat controllers. This method only for the seat controllers is reported to be working on many SPA models. |
