I agree completely! That is one of 2 features I like on AAOS, otherwise it’s a downgrade. What I try to do, at least whenever I remember to, is swipe over, turn on the 360° cameras before getting close to anything. That’ll keep them on while still showing the parking sensor indicators. I know, it’s easier said than done though.

Yeah, that’s what i do but if i forget to it’s a pain in the ass to enable cameras when close to something.


No kidding! I really wish owners would have filed NHTSA complaints for that while Sensus was the current OS and forced Volvo to program auto-activation of the 360°camera screen with parking sensor indicators.

Yeah, we who have sensus are stuck with that, there might be a way to program all that but i am not competent. Similar to API.

is it possible to enable function that while reversing the car, the rear camera comes on, but when put in drive, front camera is on? like on EU BMW's as an example.

It’s automatic, wherever any of the parking sensors detect an object nearby the cameras pop up. Works while driving in traffic or pulling into parking spots.

Just coded the start/stop button memory and that small thing feels like a spaceship!!
So damn there is no way to switch to the 360 as a default view…

I have 06 Parking Cam 360 enabled, active in reverse, unfortunately when I put the car in reverse the rear camera view appears. How do I turn it on?

Weird that reverse is 360 there, but not here. Wonder why that is?

reverse 360 was default until they had a recall and changed it (north america) because cars must be equipped with rear view camera per law and the 360 was not a rear view camera...

IV'e changed mine back to default 360 on reverse, but like another poster said, when I get into parking garage I swipe+click to bring the camera in when going forward so I don't have the proximity sensor pop up.
