Hello everyone,

i just bought a 2023 V60 B4 Mild Hybrid and wanted to turn off start/stop.
It turning off at stop lights is okay for me, as it it relatively easy to "trick" by using the manual mode. The thing that irritates me to no end is it turing off while coasting.

At first i tried "03 No button, no symbol, always off" which didnt work, it just removed the symbol in the gauge cluster.

Then i looked in the config wizard, which only shows two available options. "04 No button, standard symbol, always on" and "01 Button without memory, standard symbol".
04 is the OEM setting and i tried 01, which added the Start/Stop button in the IHU, but pressing it just makes the symbol disappear/appear.

I also set the Stop in speed velocity from 7 km/h to "without StopInSpeed" which actually worked.

Am i missing something? Any help is appreciated!

Hey all, wanted to share a new feature we found rolled out with 5.0.5 update. Volvo added Stop/Start disable for Chinese market, so that makes it an available feature through config now for anyone! Set Item 271 to "01 Button without memory, standard symbol" to add the control to the menus in the car. Only this setting "without memory" works, Volvo did not implement a version with memory.

I have tested on my 2025 XC40 B5 (US Market) and confirmed it works. For those that would like to have occasional control over the Start/Stop without disable completely, you can have it. Anyone that tries this on a DCT equipped car (B2/B3 etc) let us know if it works!

Wondering anyone here encountered a clunking sound when engaging reverse from drive?
When i engage reverse after car is in 'D', there's always a slight vibration followed by a rather loud 'Clunk', however, after 'R' is engage, vehicle will reverse normally/smoothly.
I also noticed that if i put to 'N' first from 'D', wait a sec or 2, then engage 'R', the clunking sound will be gone or less noticeable, altho' the slight vibration will still be apparent.
Seeking advise if anyone knows where should i start checking first? Read that it can be the transmission mount/drive shaft or the transmission itself.
I wonder if anyone has had experience with this type of tune and furthermore ive thought about using orbit to polestar optimized thinking this would allow higher rpm in 1st and smoother shifting.

Hello everyone,

I have recently noticed an issue with my Volvo V60 R-Design D3, model year 2019, and I would like to ask if anyone has experienced something similar.

I first noticed it while driving in Polestar mode (activated via Orbit). I do not believe the Polestar activation is related to the problem itself – it was most likely just a coincidence that I discovered it at that time.

Under full throttle, I can hear a slight whistling noise, but it sounds more metallic than a typical turbo whistle. There are no unusual noises under partial load at all.
The noise seems to occur mainly when the engine is warm. I have not properly tested it with a cold engine yet, as I usually drive gently until it is warmed up.

Interestingly, the noise can also be heard briefly after braking or deceleration. I tested this next to a wall to use it as a sound reflector, which made it easier to notice.

Under full load, the noise appears roughly between 3,000–3,500 rpm or possibly 3,500–4,000 rpm (I am not 100% certain about the exact range yet).

I have checked the turbo visually and it looks fine. There is no loss of power, no warning lights, and no other noticeable symptoms.

Has anyone experienced a similar metallic whistling noise under full load or after braking on the D3 engine?

Thanks in advance for any input.

Hi All,
I went through a similar topic on the forum (e.g. https://forums.spaycetech.com/showthread...79#pid3579), but unfortunately I couldn’t find an answer to my issue.

I have a Volvo XC60, 2022, AAOS, B4 diesel, mild-hybrid. Using Orbit Config Wizard, I changed the Auto Start/Stop setting to “No Button – Always Off”. Writing the configuration to the car completed successfully. I also made changes related to Driving Aid, which worked fine as well. There are no DTCs or other issues reported.
However, disabling Start/Stop does not seem to work. The car somehow appears to be ignoring this setting. I’ve attached screenshots from Orbit connected to the car.
For reference, Pilot Assist works fine.

Do you have any ideas whether this could be related to this specific engine Start/Stop system, or if there is anything else I could try?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello,

My V60 T8 Recharge recently got diagnosed with a bad cell/module inside of the hybrid battery pack.
The quote from volvo to fix this is quite harrowing at 5000€ ish.

I wanted to see if any sort of DIY would be possible and if so what route to take.

I concidered buying a working battery from a scrapyard/wrecker here in Sweden or in Norway, There seem to be quite a few to pick from.

Could I get a battery with the same part.no in working condition and swap my BECM into it? would that be plug/play or would I need to do any other work to get it working?
Alternatively Load the software on to the BECM in that 2nd hand batterypack, or would I need a new BECM from volvo anyway?

If those are not an option could I swap the bad module in my pack for a good one out of another pack?
If so, would I be okay verifying the battery voltages across all of the modules only using common meassuring tools such as a multimeter?

I guess I'm looking for any sort of knowledge or advice on the matter!

All help is highly appreciated! ?
